About volunteer passes...

The Volunteer Pre-sale pass you earn is good for ONLY you. Volunteer passes are distributed according to the number of 4 hour shifts you work. Eight hour volunteers shop first and 4 hour volunteers shop second. This is our “thank you” for the work you do and the time you donate.

Volunteer Job Descriptions

Volunteer tasks are generally easy but often required a lot of walking. If you have a disability that might prevent you from performing some tasks, please let us know so we can try to accommodate your needs. Snacks and drinks will be provided for volunteers.

You Name It - If you have a special skill in advertising, PR, or you’re just good with spreading the word about this sale, this is the job for you. Contact us directly and we will arrange for you to assist with a variety of tasks related to promoting the sale. This could include but will not be limited to flyer and postcard distribution, blogging, assisting with our social media campaign, etc. Hours logged will go toward a pre-sale pass!

Sale Set Up - be prepared for some lifting or volunteer your man to help! Volunteers will be unloading and setting up racks, tables, signage and more to get ready for the sale. NOTE: Be sure to wear comfortable shoes and clothing.

No shifts available.

Inspectors - JSKCS will need volunteers who have a good eye for spotting stains, tears, missing buttons and missing pieces. Remember, we want to keep our standards high…ask yourself “would I buy this?” NOTE: Be sure to wear comfortable shoes and clothing.

4 hour shifts available:

• Wednesday, March 14, 9:00 AM - 8:00 PM
• Thursday, March 15, 9:00 AM - 4:00 PM

Public Sale - Volunteers will be assisting in the check-out areas, removing tags, bagging merchandise, assisting shoppers, monitoring the sales floor, and sorting tags. NOTE: Some positions require a lot of standing/walking while others may be completed while sitting. Please let us know if you have special needs so we may assign a task that works best for you. NOTE: Be sure to wear comfortable shoes and clothing.

4 hour shifts available:

• Friday, March 16, 9:00 AM - 7:00 PM
• Saturday, March 17, 9:00 AM - 4:00 PM
• Sunday, March 18, 10:00 AM - 4:00 PM

Breakdown & Item pick-up - This is an area of high need. Volunteers will sort the unsold merchandise to prepare for consignor pick-up. Volunteers will also help break down the racks, signage and other sale equipment. NOTE: Be sure to wear comfortable shoes and clothing.

4 hour shifts available:

• Monday, March 19, 10:00 AM - 7:00 PM

Volunteer Policies

• Volunteers who are scheduled to work and fail to show up for their scheduled shift will not be allowed to volunteer with JSKCS in the future unless a valid excuse is provided.
• All volunteers are required to sign in for their scheduled shift.
• ONLY VOLUNTEERS with a volunteer pass will be able to enter on our Pre-Sale day – no guests allowed during this shopping time.
• As a volunteer, you must check-in 15 minutes BEFORE your shift begins to receive instructions.
